ASD diagnostic criteria are derived mainly from observations of school-aged children, and thus may not adequately reflect symptoms that are most relevant for individuals as they enter adulthood.  Approaches to measuring ASD-related impairments will be discussed in terms of their ability to describe a full range of social-communication outcomes for adults.
